چکیده
peroxidase (HRP) . The SI receives fibers from the posteromedial (VPM) and posterolateral ventral nuclei (VPL) in a topically organized manner. The anteroventral part of the face area of SI receives inputs from the ventromedial portion of the VPM, exclusive of the medial parvocellular part, whereas the posterodorsal part of the face area receives fibers from the dorsolateral part of the VPM. The forelimb area of SI receives fibers from the ventromedial part of VPL, and the hindlimb area from the dorsolateral part of VPL. Cortical projections of the VPM and VPL to SI appear to be organized topically in the dorsoventral, mediolateral and anteroposterior

Morphology and Synaptic Organization of Non-Dopaminergic Nigral Projections to the Medio Dorsal Thalamic Nucleus of the Rat, a Study by Anterograde Transport of PHA-L
Background: Mediodorsal (MD) thalamic nucleus, which is considered to take place between extra pyramidal and limbic feedback circuit, receives projective fibers from ventrolateral neurons of reticular part of substantia nigra (SNr). In order to better understand the influence and chemical reaction of these fibers upon MD nucleus, the morphology and synaptology of them were examined in the prese...
متن کاملT-type Ca2+ channels in thalamic sensory gating and affective Disorders
Low threshold Ca2+ currents mediated by T-type channels underlie burst spike activities of relay neurons in the thalamus. We have previously reported that knock-out mice for T-type channels show an enhanced nociceptive response to visceral pain, accompanied by an increase in tonic spikes in the absence of burst spikes in thalamic relay neurons. These results raised a possibility that T-type cha...

متن کاملThe Thalamocortical Projection Systems in Primate: An Anatomical Support for Multisensory and Sensorimotor Interplay
Multisensory and sensorimotor integrations are usually considered to occur in superior colliculus and cerebral cortex, but few studies proposed the thalamus as being involved in these integrative processes. We investigated whether the organization of the thalamocortical (TC) systems for different modalities partly overlap, representing an anatomical support for multisensory and sensorimotor int...

In order to understand the function of mammalians serotonin system, we have to know the anatomical structure, because physiological changes are influenced through the anatomical changes. A number of thalamic nuclei are associated with functions known to be influenced by serotonergic input in brainstem, among them mediodorsal thalamic nucleus has relationship with limbic system and prefrontal co...
